48% Sodium Hydroxide solution is a highly corrosive alkali; contact with skin, eyes, or mucous membranes causes severe chemical burns and must be prevented through use of full-face shields, chemical-resistant gloves, and appropriate protective clothing. Store in dedicated alkali-resistant tanks (carbon steel, HDPE) away from acids, oxidising agents, and moisture-sensitive materials; maintain storage temperature above 15°C to prevent crystallisation and viscosity increase. Consult the SDS before handling.
