Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from heat sources, direct sunlight, acids, ammonia compounds, and flammable or organic materials; keep containers tightly sealed to prevent chlorine loss and moisture ingress. This material is an oxidising solid (UN 2208, Hazard Class 5.1) — contact with acids releases toxic chlorine gas, and contact with combustible materials presents a fire risk. It can cause severe irritation to skin, eyes, and the respiratory tract. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before handling and use appropriate PPE including gloves, eye protection, and respiratory protection.
